WordPress just launched version 3.5 of its self-hosted blogging and CMS platform. This new version, called “Elvin” in honor of drummer Elvin Jones, mostly changes how WordPress users interact with images and includes a number of smaller tweaks to various other parts of the application, too.
The first thing you will notice after the update is the new image uploader. WordPress says working with the new image management system is “a beautifully simple experience.” In the announcement, WordPress and Automattic founder Matt Mullenweg says that “media has long been a friction point and we’ve listened hard and given a lot of thought into crafting this new system.”
